Construction ground
The sufficient load-bearing capability of ground and soil is the prerequisite for the technically flawless execution of earthworks and civil engineering works and for the sustainably perfect use of the construction. It is therefore necessary to check the technical properties of the construction ground prior to construction activities.
To achieve this, WESSLING carries out geotechnical field investigations to determine the soil stratification and its bulk density. The
- soil mechanical and
- soil physical parameters as well as
- geotechnical calculations
derived from this are used to provide a foundation recommendation coordinated to the construction measure, taking economic aspects into consideration.
We also undertake construction supervision tasks: we guide your site to construction maturity on the basis of existing expert reports and/or foundation recommendations. WESSLING carries out the corresponding geotechnical investigations to ensure that recommended earthworks and construction ground improvements have been carried out professionally by commissioned construction companies.

Land recycling
Land is a resource worth protecting, however it is becoming increasingly scarce, and as a result, increasingly expensive. This gives land recycling a new perspective. WESSLING analyses the facts and shows you the opportunities offered by your fallow land.
Land recycling pursues the objective of putting previously fallow sites to new uses. As part of the investigation, we determine the expenditure required for the measures. Contaminated sites
Contaminated sites
WESSLING has decades of experience in the exploration, evaluation and remediation of contaminated sites. A step-by-step procedure, in which the effort and thus the costs are kept as low as possible, has proven suitable in this case.
In the context of the use and the relevant resources, our engineers and life scientists will identify for you whether soil and groundwater remediation measures as per BBodSchG/Federal Soil Protection and Contaminated Sites Ordinance (BBodSchV) are required. It is entirely possible that there is no need for action for the individual project, a safeguarding concept is sufficient and thus, that no intervention into the soil is necessary under certain circumstances.
Our experts are experienced in innovative remediation methods such as microbiological in-situ remediation, ISCO and Enhanced Natural Attenuation/Natural Attenuation. They are familiar with all damage arising, for example, from PAH, BTEX, VHH, PFT/PFC, PCB, HC, heavy metals, cyanides and chromium. We are independent of the supply interests of the remediation companies in this case.
