OK Compost: WESSLING GreenLab certified by TÜV Austria
WESSLING France is now one of the few French laboratories certified by TÜV Austria to conduct compostability and biodegradability tests. WESSLING GreenLab is certified as OK HOME compost, OK INDUSTRIAL compost and Seedling. More details following.
From February 2022 onwards, manufacturers of packaging or compostable products aiming for a recognised certification can call on WESSLING France. Indeed, as of this month, a product that has been tested and approved by WESSLING France can directly receive one or more certifications, depending on the tests performed and validated.
WESLLING may now issue the following certifications:
- OK HOME Compost (TÜV Austria)
- OK Compost INDUSTRIAL (TÜV Austria)
- Seedling
Reminder of the benefits for the client partners of WESSLING:
- Tests are carried out by our independent and distinguished laboratory.
- Tests are launched within 15 days of receipt of the samples.
- WESSLING is eligible for Research Tax Credit (French: Crédit Impôt Recherche): you can develop products with us and benefit from it.
- WESSLING GreenLab is located in France, specifically in Isère. If your product is "made in France", it will be so forever.

These logos can be requested by our customers from TÜV AUSTRIA after tests validated by WESSLING France within the WESSLING GreenLab.
Behind the scenes: Why did the certification process take 2 years?
Valentine Gernigon, head of laboratory explains: "WESSLING GreenLab was inaugurated in October 2020 and the tests carried out already followed French and European standards. As soon as we opened, we started our certification procedure with TÜV AUSTRIA, but the pandemic considerably delayed audits since the auditors were not able to travel. Certifications were therefore delayed as well, but we are delighted to have them in our hands today!"
