With the exception of paper/cardboard, PFAS in food contact materials are not directly regulated by specific migration limits. However, art. 3 of Framework Regulation 1935/2004 states that migrating substances must not be harmful to human health. Given their effects on health, it is therefore important to monitor PFAS in packaging intended for food contact.
